Volunteer

Whether it's delivering a hot meal or just sharing companionship with an older adult, volunteers are vital to our mission of helping elders and individuals with disabilities remain living safely and independently in their own homes for as long as possible.

Volunteer Opportunities

Friendly Visitors spend one or two hours a week visiting an elder, sharing a hobby, preparing a snack, being a friend.

Medical Escorts assist elders in getting to and from medical appointments and the hospital.

Money Managers assist elders and individuals with disabilities in bill paying and budgeting. (To learn more about the Money Management Program click here.)

Nursing Home Ombudsmen visit residents in long term care facilities and assist them with resolution of their problems and concerns. If interested contact Dan Goldberg at Jewish Family Community Services at (781) 647-5327.

Office Assistants help office staff with telephone and clerical duties.

SHINE volunteers provide area elders with accurate information regarding health insurance options.

Shopping Assistants escort elders on shopping trips.

Telephone Reassurance Volunteers call home bound elders to check on their well being.
