Healthy Living Program
As people age, their risk for developing chronic health conditions increases. Evidence-based healthy living workshops are supported by reputable and reliable research establishing program effectiveness, and can contribute to the prevention, delay or management of chronic conditions; increased knowledge of self-management techniques; and increased self-care.
The Healthy Living Program offers several evidence-based, multi-session workshops that can help you improve your health and well-being. Current workshop offerings include My Life, My Health Chronic Disease Self-Management; Diabetes Self-Management; Chronic Pain Self-Management; Healthy Eating for Successful Living; A Matter of Balance and Powerful Tools for Caregivers. The small group workshops are held at various locations throughout the Greater Boston area. Workshops generally meet for 2 1/2 hours a week for a total of six weeks. Classes are highly interactive and allow for ample time for participants to discuss concerns, develop an individualized action plan, and receive personalized help and support.
Springwell has been providing Healthy Living Workshops since 2007, and employs a dedicated Healthy Living Coordinator who supervises and coordinates a team of volunteer workshop facilitators. All leaders are screened and fully trained in the workshops they present. Many have experienced health concerns similar to those covered in the workshops. All workshops offered by Springwell are evidence-based workshops, developed and tested to confirm that participants take away skills and techniques that can help them better manage life and health conditions.
